A bidding mechanism for maintenance of generation units considering inter-ISO power exchange

To ensure the reliability of power systems, independent system operator (ISO) manages planning process maintenance generation units for companies (GENCOs). This paper focuses on a widely studied two-layer long-term predictive decision making framework in deregulated environment. In first layer ISO-wide schedule is optimized GENCOs, targeting minimal total cost and degradation statuses. second layer, bidding mechanism designed GENCOs who are not satisfied with time slots scheduled by so that they can bid their preferred slots. A novel host ISO (i.e., process) proposed, called interchangeable (IBMM). this mechanism, use price to purchase supportive energy from neighbor ISOs. Furthermore, also pay penalty fee reducing amount transmitted respect what has been stipulated inter-ISO exchange contract. IBMM provides more opportunities obtain Additionally, be ensured. formulated as mixed-integer non-linear programming problem. Then, problem recast into second-order cone (MISOCP) solved using Gurobi. case study, IEEE 118-bus network illustrate performance proposed strategy.
